  • 2 Elk Steaks (10-12oz each)
  • 1 Tablespoon Kosher Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 6 Cloves Garlic
  • 2 Sprigs Fresh Rosemary


  • Season the elk steak with kosher salt and coarse ground black pepper. Flip it over and do the same on the other side.
  • Fire up the grill, you can use a cast-iron pan to create a nice crust.
  • Once the pan is heated and ready put some butter into it. Lay the steak right on the skillet and it will start searing. Cook it for about 2 minutes.
  • Throw garlic, a sprig of rosemary and add a touch of butter for flavor. After 2 minutes flip over the steak to cook the other side and cook for 2 minutes as well. While cooking, drizzle the butter and garlic mixture over the top.
  • After a total of 4 minutes remove the steak from the pan and let it rest while cooking the other steak the same way.
  • Let it rest for about 6-7 minutes and it's all good to taste!
