Ham & Cheddar Chicken

Had enough of that ordinary roasted chicken? This recipe will bring you a whole different level of roasted chicken. Try this very simple and easy recipe for that roasted chicken feast.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Chickens (4 Lbs each)
  • 2 Lbs Ham Steaks (fine-cut)
  • Leek (chopped, white part)
  • Onion (chopped)
  • ½ Lbs Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 4 Oz Butter (110 grams)
  • Celery (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme (crushed)
  • 1-2 teaspoon Ground Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Sage
  • Olive Oil
  • 4 Oz Sun-Dried Tomatoes In Oil
  • 1 Quart Chicken Stock (1000cc)
  • 1 1/2 Lbs Croutons (680 grams)
  • SPG

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine celery, onion and leek with sharp cheddar cheese.
  • Dice up about two pounds of ham steak, take out any of the fat from the ham steaks and add it to the mix.
  • Add crushed thyme, sun-dried tomatoes in oil, ground pepper and ground sage, then give it a good mix.
  • Heat up a pan, add salted butter, olive oil. Melt down the butter and add the mix ingredients. Bring it to a simmer, then add the croutons.
  • Mix and add the chicken stock. Once its sufficiently heated up move it off the flame.
  • Stuff the cavities of the chickens with the mix. Season the outside of the chicken with SPG.
  • Place the chicken on the grill at 325 degrees for about an hour and ½ and monitor internal temp to go 165 degrees.
  • Remove from the grill, cover with aluminum foil for about 20 minutes to let the chicken rest. Serve and Enjoy!
