Maple Turkey Recipe

- Smoker
- Saucepan
- Kitchen Twine
Ingredients
- 10 Lb Turkey (with neck and giblets removed)
- 1.5 Cups Sea Salt
- 12 Sprigs Fresh Thyme
- 5 Dried Bay Leaves
- 1/2 Head of Garlic
- 3/4 Cup Maple Syrup
- 3 Gallons Water
Instructions
- Brine the turkey by mixing salt, water, thyme, syrup, garlic, and bay leaves in a big saucepan until the salt dissolves.
- Refrigerate for 24 hours to chill.
- Heat smoker to 200 °F.
- With the help of kitchen twine, secure the turkey's legs and tuck in the wing tips. With a drip pan full of water on the smokebox's bottom, place the turkey inside the smoker.
